CONSERVATORY ADDED TO BETTERLIVING® PRODUCT LINE

A growing number of companies that sold only sunrooms have recently added conservatories to their line. Betterliving Patio & Sunrooms of Nashville, one of the fastest growing sunroom specialists in the area, has added custom manufactured conservatories to complement their popular three and four season rooms.

Conservatories originated in about 1700 in England during the reign of George III, and were designed for the protection of plants. Today, almost half of the outdoor room market in Europe is conservatories, but in the United States, the product is still in its infancy. Despite their cost, however, the market in growing rapidly here in America. A conservatory can run twice the cost of a sunroom, stated Nashville’s sales manager Dede Bailey. However, the appeal of the Victorian design and the elegant appearance of vaulted glass ceilings is very attractive to homeowners, she added.

“After a homeowner has added one of our sunrooms, they always say it’s their favorite room in the house,” Bailey continued. “We added conservatories to address the desires of homeowners who are looking for additional living space that makes a dramatic, upscale statement.”

Conservatories usually have a foundation wall, while a sunroom usually does not. In addition, conservatories feature all glass ceilings. They feature intricate European design features, while sunrooms have sleek modern lines. Both products have the necessary engineering to assure that they meet local building code requirements. And both products are proven to increase a home’s resale value. They add extra living space, bring light into the home, and won’t become outdated as interior design styles change.
